IBM bows out of servers. Will storage be next?

IBM’s recently announced decision to bail out of the X86 server market and sell it to Lenovo has caused quite a stir and much speculation Naturally, I’m mostly interested in what this means for its storage business, its customers and partners and the industry as a whole. To say that it seems like a bold and potentially hasty decision would be an understatement, and it certainly makes me wonder what this means for IBM’s converged strategy overall.

Hybrid storage – breakneck speed without breaking the bank

If there’s one truth about the storage world today it’s that change is constant. That’s partly why I enjoy working in this industry so much - there’s always something new on the horizon! When I speak to customers of all sizes, they tell me exactly the same. That their business is evolving and adapting at an astonishing rate, and what they really need is technology that’s going to keep up with the pace of change. Hybrid storage isn’t a topic I’ve covered before, but with the recent announcement of HP StoreVirtual 4335 Storage, I wanted to explore this theme, particularly in relation to our small and midsize business customers.
