SC10 kicks off Monday!

The major Supercomputing conference of the year, SC10, commences next week in New Orleans.  This year, we expect to hear news on broader deployment of GPUs for mainstream High Performance Computing, as well as continued focus on energy efficiency.  Both technology areas are critical for the new wave of PetaFLOP computing.  Our solutions being showcased at the event cover both these areas.  Our 2nd generation of GPU-enabled servers, with the HP ProLiant SL390s G7, will be on display at our booth, as well as Tokyo Tech’s booth.  And a 20’ POD will be on the show floor.  For more info, check here.

Three of the eight Student Cluster Competition teams have selected HP technology as foundation for their competition.  Let the games begin (and the good times roll)!  Congratulations to our teams at Florida A&M University, Louisiana State University and Purdue for making it into the final SC10 competition.

HP-CAST kicked off already, with a keynote already this morning from Professor Matsuoka of Tokyo Tech describing the Tsubame2 PetaFLOPS system, and a perspectives on HPC scaling, past and future, from Marek Michalewicz of A*Star in Singapore.
