When the Nordic High Performance Computing organizations of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland decided to launch a supercomputing initiative to support the region’s leading science and research institutions, HP provided the technology foundation for this innovative project.

The insatiable demand for performance in High- Performance Computing (HPC) has some experts musing that the industry might see its first exascale system later this decade.   Getting there will involve much more than scaling up existing technologies.  It will come with enormous challenges and requirements across manageability, efficiency and RAS.

The major Supercomputing conference of the year, SC10, commences next week.  This year, we expect to hear news on broader deployment of GPUs for mainstream High Performance Computing, as well as continued focus on energy efficiency.
