HP Expands Presence and Takes Leadership in European HPC Organizations

Dr Frank Baetke.pngHP most recently expanded its presence in European high performance computing (HPC) endeavors by becoming a full member of the European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing (ETP4HPC). ETPs exist for many areas of key concern to European societies. A primary role of ETP is to develop research agendas, areas for innovation and roadmaps for action at the EU and national level to be supported by both private and public funding. Additionally, HP's  Frank Baetke, worldwide HPC business development manager for academia and research at HP, has been elected by the EOFS Board to serve as the new chairman of EOFS. Taking “Converged” to “Ultra” Converged With the New Citrix WorkspacePod™ Powered by HP Moonshot

Dr. Tom Bradicich, VP Server Engineering, HP Servers, describes how his engineering team, along with the brilliant team at Citrix, developed new extensions to our workspace delivery solutions using what he calls an “ultra” converged model of our HP Moonshot servers. Ultra-convergence takes converged to the next level --- by integrating compute, storage, and networking with accelerators such as graphics and GPUs. The results are insanely great. And we call it the Citrix WorkspacePod™ Powered by HP Moonshot.

Imagine the impact…TI’s KeyStone SoC + HP Moonshot

Guest blog written by Sanjay Bhal, WW product line manager, HPC & Cloud, Texas Instruments Incorporated

On April 8, 2013, market leader Hewlett Packard announced a huge change in the server landscape with its recent Moonshot announcement. HP responded to the new challenges being driven by the diverse requirements of mobility, cloud, social and Big Data by enabling application-optimized servers rather than the traditional, one-size-fits-all servers. TI is very excited to be part of such a monumental industry shift as we strongly believe that a better way to cloud is driven by such purpose-driven server architectures.
