Converged cloud is an exciting strategy from HP that holds great promise for the new paradigm of cloud computing for our clients. HP without a proprietary operating system or data base to protect has chosen a very open path for our cloud.
HP Converged Cloud is the industry’s first hybrid delivery approach and portfolio based on a common architecture that enables customers to build, manage, secure and consume cloud services that span private, managed and public clouds as well as traditional IT. HP’s Converged Cloud is based on open standards and supports multi-vendor, heterogeneous software and hardware. It is built on industry-leading HP Converged Infrastructure, HP Management & Security, HP Information Management, and Open Stack technologies. By extending the power of the cloud across infrastructure, applications and information, HP Converged Cloud provides choice, confidence and consistency.
Considering clients are all different and will choose many different entry points to leverage cloud, our strategy is a significant plus. The design provides portability to run applications in our public, managed and private implementations. A Client might leverage the Public cloud to build and test and application and then run it on a privately owned or HP managed virtual private infrastructure.
Our approach provides the greatest amount of flexibility and choice for our clients. It opens the door for third party software vendors to develop software that can run in all of our cloud environments. Clients can launch new or port existing applications to our architecture and be confident that they can run them across all HP cloud implementations. HP Enterprise Services clients have all the variations of cloud available to them plus a delivery organization with the skills and experience necessary to make cloud a viable option for mission critical applications and processes.
