Racing to the New Style of IT can be fun at HP Discover

I enter the Discover Zone at HP Discover and see a couple of checkered flags. Behind them, a huge monitor displays an automobile racing up the highway like you would see in a NASCAR race. Standing in front of this monitor is an excited “racer,” navigating the automobile with great enthusiasm on the screen. The racer, representing an enterprise, is posed questions on their tablet concerning the solutions that would best address the challenges specific to them. They are rewarded for choosing the right answers. And penalized – like any other game – for choosing incorrectly. But this is a race where everyone is a winner due to a very simple reason – you start with the challenges specific to your enterprise environment and walk out with the solutions that best suit your needs. Join me as I walk you through why racing to the New Style of IT can be fun at HP Discover.

Discover - Race track.jpegFirst Stop. The Virtual Pit Crew offers multiple experiences:

  • Forward-thinking on various aspects of the New Style of IT
  • Various automobile model trivia
  • Tips on how you can effectively manipulate the app while driving to the New Style Of IT (hold your breath – it’s coming)
  • A comprehensive set of challenges enterprises encounter today to be competitive tomorrow
  • A quick list of typical questions that you are going to be asked as you race

Second Stop. Be your own device and test drive a few for fun.

Third Stop. The actual race itself. You’re handed a tablet that you can use to navigate down the race track, just like NASCAR. You have three solutions to pick from to address the questions posed:

  • One of these solutions is simply there to add to the fun—it’s definitely not the right solution.
  • There is one right answer.
  • The third answer is a plausible answer. Remember, the New Style of IT requires a New Style of thinking with a New Style of Leadership.

Fourth Stop. You get to meet with HP experts who can work with you on applying solutions more aligned with the New Style of IT to address your challenges.

Getting to the New Style of IT is not about finding the right challenge for existing solutions. Instead, it is about identifying the winning solution specific to your challenges. Which is why I am convinced every participant in the race walks out a winner.

So, what if you accidentally pick the wrong solution while racing? Well, stop by to find out.

I may not be as good at predicting my winnings when it comes to Blackjack at The Venetian but I can say with great accuracy who are the winners in this Race to the New style Of IT. Everyone!

The only thing you have to do is to take the first step to get there and participate! See you there! Just look for the checkered flags just as you enter the Discover Zone.
