Transforming Applications to New Frontiers – Blogger Coffee Talk at HP Discover
I am heading out to HP Discover conference in Frankfurt wearing multiple hats. As an HP Distinguished Technologist, I am always interested to learn about emerging technologies from HP Software and innovative solutions from HP Labs. As an HP Cloud Advisor, I look forward to thought-leading sessions on HP's Converged Cloud solutions as well as interacting with various thought leaders in this space—such as HP blogger Christian Verstraete. And last, but not least, I look forward to meeting you—my fellow bloggers at this conference—in person! But, hold on—I’m not only meeting you. I’m actually conducting a Coffee Talk with the bloggers at the HP Conference on a topic near and dear to my heart—Transforming Applications to New Frontiers.
Applications Transformation is an arena that pulls in a wide spectrum of domains, making it an interesting and exciting topic overall, regardless of whether you blog on Mobility, Cloud, Big Data, Security or the role of the CIO. Here’s an abstract of what I have in mind for this session:
Applications Transformation has always been a journey, driven by the business objectives for the enterprise, while ensuring that the future state is effectively enabling core business processes to realize tangible financial benefits. While it is true that the process of profiling and rationalizing applications has reached a steady state over the years, there are many more options that warrant strong consideration today, thanks to various paradigms.
- How do you effectively make the move from systems of record to systems of engagement?
- How do you determine whether to transform to the cloud?
- If components of an application are being modernized, which applications are better suited for a Mobile/BYOD interface?
- How do we ensure that the legacy data is made available for comprehensive Information Analytics?
- How do we use sentiment analysis techniques to glean the pulse of the end user community?
- Finally, how can we ensure that the enterprise transforms to a more secure environment overall?
Join me for this Coffee Talk where we can verbally blog about this exciting journey of applications transformation to new frontiers. Destination? The HP Discover Conference in Frankfurt on Tuesday, Dec. 4th from 4:45 to 5:30 PM.
Social media provides a funny experience. Here, we interact extensively with each other through our blog posts and Twitter chats, and become familiar with each other’s perspectives on topics that interest us, without ever meeting in person. At HP Discover, we actually get to meet, interact, and share our thoughts in person. And we have an event dedicated for that very purpose!
So I welcome all bloggers at the HP Discover conference to join me in this Coffee Talk. Let’s get some coffee and start chatting about how we can take Applications to New Frontiers.
Have you been to a Blogger Coffee Talk lately? We should meet more often like this.
