Collaboration Drives Innovative Product Development

Collaborate to innovate with Product Lifecycle Management: That’s the title of the BB3657 session to be presented at HP Discover 2013 by Nicholas Holian from HP. In this session, Holian explores the tectonic shifts that are impacting product lifecycle management today, including mobility, Big Data, social media and cloud. Looking forward to what Holian has to share, I began thinking about the breadth of impact of social media on Product Lifecycle Management across all its phases. And I am fascinated by the opportunities that present themselves.

For productivity excellence, stick to the basics

One of my fellow HP bloggers, Tom Hall, posed a question on my 200th Blog Post concerning how I use technology to increase productivity. Hall’s question led me to reflect upon my attempts to use technology to make not only myself, but also the people I work with, be more productive. The measures that have worked (and continue to yield sustainable, long-term returns) are those that stick to the basic principles of knowledge management and collaboration in today’s globalized environment.

Inauguration of the New CIO

Presidential inaugurations herald the dawn a new term, filled with aspirations of many, including the ambitious goals of the Commander-in-Chief. The inaugural address charts a course for the next four years. As I watched the inaugural ceremonies, I thought of newly appointed CIOs who must be ready to deliver their own version of an inaugural address. Every new CIO must lay out their priorities, based on the business and IT drivers for their enterprise.
