Long live the physical keyboard

"You are one of the few people I've seen who still use the external mouse," quips Meenakshi, one of our family friends, as I start to write my blogs for the week. She happens to be a mouse user too. As I move the pointer over various topics of interest and watch the display react to every flick of my wrist and click of the mouse, I pause. I respectfully pause in memory of the inventor of the mouse, Douglas Engelbart, whom the world lost recently. At the same time, I am intrigued by the continued presence of the ubiquitous keyboard. In the world of virtualized images, flexible displays, touch screens, and slide texting, the keyboard has retained its presence.
