In my previous post, I mentioned that in addition to the webinar recorded with Dan Olds, founder & principal of the Gabriel Consulting Group, we also recorded several short podcasts that highlight key areas of the UNIX vendor preferences survey.


The first podcast  provided insights into the types of customers using UNIX, how they choose their UNIX vendors, and what their views are on the strategic value of UNIX.


In this podcast, the second out of a series of six, Dan Olds and Katie Curtin-Mestre take a deeper dive into the commercial UNIX buying criteria and the importance of availability and stability to customers when considering a UNIX system.


Dan Olds also goes into details on how the top 3 UNIX vendors compare on these criteria including a year by year trend review and a showcases on how HP did in the performance and support categories.

He joined HP in 1989 after graduating from Santa Clara University and has been an HP Fellow since 2008.
