Finalists Announced For 2011 HP Intel Mission-Critical Innovation Awards!

Our esteemed independent judging panel have selected the finalists for the 2011 Mission-Critical Innovation Awards!   Thank-you to everyone that took the time to submit an entry -- we received some really outstanding innovation stories this year in each of the 4 categories.  Just goes to show you enterprises continue to embrace the power and efficiencies of mission-critical converged infrastructure and the unstoppable reliability of Itanium-based systems. 

 

As readers of this blog know, the 2011 Mission Critical Innovation Awards are presented by HP and Intel® and recognize leaders in IT for their groundbreaking work developing solutions for mission-critical computing.  The program is a worldwide competition culminating in an exclusive awards celebration held the night before HP DISCOVER kicks off in Vienna, Austria -- November 28th.  Our videographers will be on site to capture the celebration and we'll also be showing you summaries of our finalists' stories - why the solutions they implemented meet the increasingly tough challenge to deliver always-on resiliency; why their solutions are truly special and innovative; why they are true leaders in their industry!

 

So without further ado, here are the 4 awards categories and our 3 finalists in each:

 

MISSION-CRITICAL DATA:  Recognizes the success organizations delivered by implementing a database, data warehousing, or line-of-business solution.

  • Vinay Gupta is an HP Distinguished Technologist and the NonStop Manageability Architect. He joined Tandem in 1994 after graduating from Indian Institute of Technology. He has worked on many NonStop manageability applications over time. He works across various groups within NonStop and HP to ensure consistency and interoperability in manageability interfaces and applications. He is also a member of DMTF workgroups.
  • Wendy Bartlett is a Distinguished Technologist in HP’s NonStop Enterprise Division, and focuses on dependability – security and availability - for the NonStop server line. She joined Tandem in 1978. Her other main area of interest is system architecture evolution. She has an M.S. degree in computer science from Stanford University.
