What do Sir James Paul McCartney, Venice and Instant-On Enterprise have in common? They are all coming together from June 6-10 in Las Vegas for Discover, the largest HP conference in history.

It might be a new name for some of you, but I am sure you have attended at least one of HP Technology Forum, HP Software Universe or HP Technology at Work conferences. Well, HP Discover is the new enterprise business event for alumni of all three of these. It is HP’s largest showcase technology event where you can learn what it takes to start your journey to Instant-On Enterprise. With the sponsors such as Microsoft, SAP, Intel and Brocade, this is the place to be. This is a unique event to experience HP’s entire portfolio of products, solutions and services.

What all is happening?

The HP Discover conference is comprised of General Sessions, Track Keynote Sessions, Breakout Sessions, Hands-on Labs and CDA sessions.

General Sessions are keynotes by executives from HP and our partners in innovation. You'll hear the vision and strategy behind the Instant-On Enterprise and how emerging solutions will help you close the gap between what your organization needs at a business level and what IT can deliver. Speakers of General Sessions include Leo Apotheker, President and CEO of HP; Bill McDermott, co-CEO of SAP; B. Kevin Turner, COO of Microsoft; Kirk Skaugen, VP and GM of Intel Data Center Group; Ann Livermore, EVP of HP Enterprise Business; Bill Veghte, EVP of HP Software; Dave Donatelli, EVP and GM of HP Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking; and Prith Banerjee, SVP and Research Director of HP Labs.

Track Keynote Sessions provide a bridge between General Sessions and Breakouts. They will align HP's perspective on emerging IT trends and opportunities to specific technologies and innovations that you will see first-hand throughout the conference. The Track Keynote Sessions are organized by solutions (Application Transformation; Converged Infrastructure; Enterprise Security; Cloud; Information Optimization; and Mobility), by industry (Automotive and Aerospace; Communications, Media and Entertainment; Energy; Financial Services; Healthcare and Life Sciences; High Tech and Electronics; Public Sector; Retail and Consumer Goods; and Transportation and Logistics), and by product/service (Business Critical Systems; Industry Standard Servers; Storage; Networking; Software; and Services). If you are a HP NonStop customer, don’t forget to attend the Business Critical Systems keynote (Shaping the Future for Mission Critical Computing) by Martin Fink, SVP and GM of HP Business Critical Systems, where he describes how HP can help you take a mission-critical Converged Infrastructure to the next level with a common modular architecture and innovation, including HP Integrity servers, HP-UX and HP NonStop.

Breakout Sessions will tackle focused topics on the road to becoming an Instant-On Enterprise. You can customize your agenda from hundreds of breakouts in three track categories: Solutions, Industries, and Products/Services. Breakouts will range from introductory solution overviews to deep-dive technical sessions. HP NonStop has 36 content-rich breakouts. Find a list of Breakout Sessions at HP Discover scheduler.

Hands-on Labs provide an eye-level tour of key technologies. They give you the opportunity to dive into the technical details and ask questions as they arise. Take the helm and explore solutions for enterprise security, disaster recovery, on-demand private cloud, and much more. HP NonStop has dedicated Hands-on Labs. Three times as many hands-on labs are offered at HP Discover than during HP Tech Forum 2010. Find a list of Hands-on Labs at HP Discover scheduler.

CDA Sessions feature not-yet-announced innovations and will give you the inside track on what's next in IT. If you are the kind of IT professional who thinks beyond state of the art, and if the words like "roadmap," "prototype," and "future-proof" get your attention, then, you must sign up for HP Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) sessions at HP Discover. From servers to storage, power to cooling, software deployment to virtualization, SAP to 4G, these sessions encompass HP’s entire enterprise business line. Of course, HP NonStop has its own CDA Sessions.

While at HP Discover, you must check out the Discover Zone expo featuring the largest collection of enterprise IT business innovations on the planet. Of course, attending SIGs and individual customer meetings and chatting with customers to understand their environment would be priceless and help me create better products and solutions. If that was not enough, Paul McCartney’s performance in itself is reason enough to attend HP Discover.
