HP Speaks at Java 7 Launch Event Today
Our own Bill Blosen from our HP-UX engineering team is speaking today at the Java 7 launch event in Redwood Shores, California. Bill is reinforcing that HP has been a strong supporter and licensee of the Java technology since the early days of Java 1.1 on all of our platforms, and will continue to maintain this strong relationship.
HP offers a full portfolio of ProLiant servers, benefitting from the Oracle X86 based java implementation, and HP develops its’ own Java implementation for our mission-critical HP Integrity servers including HP-UX, OpenVMS, and HP NonStop. By working with several partners, our Java implementations are some of the best platforms available for deploying mission-critical Java applications.
HP continues to put customers first in our development roadmaps. Our aim is to maintain a strong Java implementation on these platforms ensuring a 1) high-quality customer experience, 2) competitive support timeframes, 3) aggressive time-to-market deliveries of security fixes and new versions and 4) one of the highest performing Java platforms in the industry on our HP-UX operating system.
We are pleased that Java is moving forward and addressing the needs of the Java programming community. HP is committed to our strong long-term relationship with the Java licensing organization and looks forward to continuing strong support of our joint customers, partners and the general Java community.
We are going to be posting updates to our HP-UX Java info OpenVMS/Alpha Java and HP NonStop java page in weeks to come, so stay tuned.
