NonStop Manageability showcased at HP Discover 2012

In my last blog, I wrote about how HP Integrity NonStop customers can take full advantage of HP Discover 2012 by attending breakout sessions, SIGs and Discover Zone, taking training, and of course, attending many parties and entertainment performances.

Over the years, I’ve personally looked forward to ITUG, HPTF and now, HP Discover. This gives me the best opportunity to talk to you – the customers I work with everyday. This gives me the best opportunity to proudly show you the products I have helped create and see if they solve your real business problems. This gives me the best opportunity to learn about your environments, and the new issues that you are faced with – which, of course, gives me innovative challenges to create something even better. I recall appreciative comments from many of you telling me how a particular product has helped you. I also recall problems you have shared with me and asked for my advice on how they can be solved.

This year is going to be no exception. I will be quite busy at HP Discover. First, I will be presenting two breakout sessions: NonStop manageability update: manage your Converged Infrastructure efficiently (TB2086) on Tuesday, June 5th, at 5:15 PM, and HP IT Performance Suite support of NonStop (TB2725) on Wednesday, June 6th, at 4 PM.

In the first presentation, I will talk about various NonStop management applications, which help lower TCO by providing easy-to-use and easy-to-learn interfaces. NonStop manageability strategy has continuously been to provide you - our customers - a comprehensive collection of management applications to choose from, based on your specific needs and skill sets of your operations team. This means that if you have an experienced NonStop operations team, we have management applications that are NonStop-centric. On the other hand, if your operations team is composed of less experienced new hire types, or ones with experience on other platforms, they can use management applications they are used to and still manage NonStop systems. NonStop management applications easily adapt to your specific environments and support heterogeneous Converged Infrastructure environments consisting of other platforms and operating systems. A highlight in this presentation would be to get a glimpse at the huge number of new features and new functionality we have added in the last year along with what’s on the horizon. Attending this session will help you decide what management applications are suitable for your environment, and how they can help maximize system availability and reduce TCO. Another important thing you can find out in this session is whether new management features you may be asking for are already available, or if they are going to be in the future.

In the second presentation, I will talk about how NonStop systems are supported in many HP IT Performance Suite products. If the HP IT Performance Suite is a new name to you, that’s because it’s indeed a new name. HP IT Performance Suite is a combination of what used to be HP Business Technology Optimization (BTO) solutions, plus Information Management, Business Intelligence, Security Intelligence and Risk Management solutions. As if one of these set of products and services in your hands was not enough, the combination of these in the form of HP IT Performance Suite is deadly to your competition. This integrated suite uniquely empowers CIOs to leverage the new realities of a cloud-enabled world, manage business threats and risks, and deliver a true competitive differentiation. This suite is the industry's deepest and broadest insight into IT-controlled assets and a secure environment for a hybrid world. What’s in it for you as a NonStop customer? A lot… For one, if your organization already uses HP IT Performance Suite to manage infrastructure and business services on other platforms, you will learn how HP Integrity NonStop systems can be integrated into this management environment. Secondly, if you are trying to consolidate and efficiently manage your data center infrastructure and business services, you will learn how HP IT Performance Suite products and services will help you, and how you can take your NonStop systems along with your overall transformation journey. You will be amazed at the depth and breadth of NonStop systems support in the HP IT Performance Suite.

One of the things I look forward to the most is to show the NonStop manageability products in action, and that’s exactly what I will do again this year at HP Discover. In the HP Discover Zone (expo floor), you will find me demonstrating how NonStop hardware, software, performance, availability, events, power, cooling, and business processes can be managed using a choice of manageability products and see recently introduced products and functionality in NonStop manageability products. Whether you want to learn about HP Systems Insight Manager, HP Insight Power Control, NonStop Cluster Essentials, NonStop Performance Essentials, NonStop I/O Essentials, NonStop Software Essentials, HP Insight Control for NonStop, Web ViewPoint, ASAP, RPM, OVNM, OVNPM or any other NonStop manageability product, this is the demo station you want to find. HP Discover Zone also serves as a great place to chat about your specific problems, specific requirements, and specific experiences.
