Intel commitment to Itanium confirmed AGAIN at event in China
Good news is worth repeating! Share the news from the Intel Developer Forum in Bejing this week. Kirk Skaugen, vice president and general manager, Intel Data Center Group, confirmed again Intel’s commitment to Itanium. During his keynote, Kirk reaffirmed Intel’s strong support for Itanium and announced that the next-gen Itanium processor, Poulson, will launch on schedule in 2012. Highlights of planned enhancements to Poulson include double performance, RAS advancements, bandwidth improvements, and 54MB on-die memory.
Others obviously recognize the value of Itanium. Intel has added two more Itanium partners: Huawei Technologies and Inspur.
HP puts customers first and is committed to continuing the development and innovation of Itanium-based Integrity servers. Commitment—1 word, 10 characters—priceless! When was the last time you heard this word used in conjunction with customers and Oracle?
