3100 - "Error is 1722"

Hello, I am running Windows 2000 Professional, Service Pack 3. When installing JetSuite as the "Administrator" (as recommended in http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xc8af50dde50cd71190050090279cd0f9,00.html) I am getting an "Error is 1722" error message 3 times in a row. After I reboot (followed the prompts), there is no 3100 printer available under "Settings-->Printers and Faxes". What's going on? I then proceeded with trying to install the printer driver directly from the CD (:\nt\hplj3100.inf which succeeded. However, I cannot print any documents whatsoever. Instead my print queue is showing a large document called "JSPCLWNT Raster Data" getting spooled for hundreds of MBs. This slows down the PC to a grinding halt for which the only solution is to uninstall JetSuite Pro. What's the scoop? Anyone?

Just want to add:

Got exactly the same problem - but have not found a solution yet.
My 3100 can not be used any more - Can someone assist with this issue ?
