Armada 1750: Trying to replace the CDrom

My CDrom in my 1750 finally decided to kick off and I have bought a bare replacement drive to install, however I cant figure out how to initially get to the drive to pull it out without taking the entire computer apart. I really am not sure how compaq designed it to be taken out.

Also does anyone know what proccessor this system takes? I'd like to buy a 400mhz cpu and stick it in there. Currently its running at 333mhz.

You don't need to take your notebook apart.
All you do is remove keyboard and two little screws underneath it. It should take 2 minutes. Check the service guide

If you'd like to replace CPU note that Armada 1750 400MHz has different systemboard form 333
and 360MHz models:
