Accelerating Application Performance with HP ProLiant DL580 G7 and HP IO Accelerators

This week at HP Discover 2011 in Las Vegas, HP unveiled a live demo running more than 1 million IOPS with a single HP ProLiant DL580 G7 server configured with ten 1.28TB HP IO Accelerators in a Windows environment. 

 

The demo showcases the power of HP’s robust and scalable server technologies and highlights how customers can benefit from a cost-effective solution that delivers accelerated application performance for I/O intensive workloads.

 

For example, this solution offers a simple and unique approach to hosting and running databases and other applications where there are I/O bottlenecks. 

 

Demo:
•  HP ProLiant DL580 G7
•  256 GB RAM
•  4 x Intel® Xeon® E7 series processors
•  Windows Server 2008 
•  ~1.3 million random 4K IOPS
•  >4 GB/s throughput

 

HP works with Fusion-io as the technology partner for the IO Accelerators which are available for both rack and blade server environments.
