HP Wrap up on Red Hat Summit: Winners!

It’s been just over a month since we showed customers how to ACCELERATE to a more certain future at the Red Hat Summit, thanks to all the new HPLinux followers who joined us on Twitter and read the blog.  The theme of this blog is “winners”.

The first winner is cloud customers.  Red Hat came out with a big cloud message at the summit, introduced their Cloud Foundations: Edition One solutions and did a nice job on showing the linkages between virtualization and their cloud offerings.  As I said before, the HP cloud offerings are a perfect compliment to the Red Hat offerings.  Just today we announced the HP Flexible Data Center to help customers cut capital and operating expenses out of their budget while having better service levels.  Our breadth of offering through our Converged Infrastructure is unmatched in the industry, cloud customers are winners with the HP and Red Hat cloud products, solutions and services.

The second winner are customers who want to modernize their infrastructure.  We believe customers can Migrate faster, AND with confidence.  Our ProLiant DL980 8-socket server was the top point of interest in the HP booth, thanks to all the customers who came by to see this engineering feat!  We meant it when we said: ‘Break away from RISC.  Break even in 60 days’.  With this and other scale-up and scale-out ProLiant servers customers have unprecedented choices to modernize their infrastructure.

To complement this on July 19th we also announced new Solaris migration services from HP & Red Hat Consulting Services.  I couldn’t close this topic out without highlighting the impressive attendance (60+) at the HP Software + Red Hat JBoss session for Evidence-Based Application development, customers can truly Accelerate time to value with HP Software.

Last but not least, I want to announce our HP Mini Netbook winners: Dan from New Jersey and Satoshi from Japan are proud new owners of an HP Netbook, enjoy!

So that’s a wrap on the Red Hat Summit for 2010.  Thanks to all who attended, please continue to watch the news as HP and Red Hat bring unmatched value to our joint customers (the real winners).
