Why You Must Transform Your IT Infrastructure

Over the last five years, the world of commerce has radically changed. Traditional infrastructure can’t keep up with current business demands. Changing customer behavior, growing operational costs, greater complexity, and the inability of traditional IT infrastructure to respond to new market trends is hampering business. Let's consider some examples.

Convergence or Disaggregation of IT infrastructures Doesn’t Have to Be The Choice

When I teach college engineering classes, I talk to my students about “mutually exclusive objectives”. This conflict arises when two objectives are opposing, and seemly cannot exist at the same time. For example, when I was a young engineer designing one of the industry’s first notebook computers, I was challenged with making it light weight AND making the battery last a long time. This was mutually exclusive objective because I could make the computer light weight, but the resulting light weight battery wouldn’t last long. Today these are no longer conflicting objectives. A solution to BOTH was discovered. So it is with many things in life. If you can solve mutually exclusive objectives, I’d say, you’ll advance your company and your career.
