Cloud computing, Big Data, Gaming and Entertainment, Mobility, Financial Services, etc. Is it possible for one generation of servers to deliver a diverse range of optimized computing to fit virtually any workload? Data is growing at a rapid and an exponential rate. Seemingly mundane daily tasks (like watching a TV show or ordering a cup of coffee) trigger massive amounts of data creation.  And this is data that can be used to improve our everyday experiences, from product decisions to lowering costs to finding new music.

It’s all about the software?!? Or is it all about the hardware?!?

I just finished reading the thought-provoking piece in Tech Crunch titled “Hardware is the new software”. The answer is yes, and no.

Yes, hardware is very important… and HP does know hardware. After all we introduced the world’s #1 server portfolio, HP ProLiant.

But hardware is changing; it’s not your behemoth from years gone by – in fact quite the opposite.

From the first ProSignia to the industry-leading ProLiant… innovations continue to change the face of computing.
