Guest blog: HP & VMware best practice: running SAP HANA in a virtualized environment
Guest Blog by David Auster - VMware Global Partner Marketing
This is an exciting time for SAP customers in light of SAP’s recent announcement about HANA in a VMware virtualized environment. As one of VMware’s largest OEMs, HP is demonstrating their continued leadership in aggressively supporting virtualization as a preferred way to run SAP with VMware.
The HP Virtualized AppSystems for SAP HANA inclusive of the VMware vSphere, vCenter and HP ProLiant DL980 G7 servers will no doubt be a vital part of streamlining the implementation of HANA and reducing costs.
HP’s approach; leveraging existing products, tools & processes for SAP environments, fully aligns with VMware vSphere being able to be treated and managed along with the rest of a customer’s existing SAP landscape.
Since HANA runs on standard VMware vSphere that has not been modified or customized in any way, the same vSphere that customers and partners are familiar remains the same.
SAP HANA on HP and VMware opens many new possibilities by enabling a more flexible and still high performing leading edge database environment.
Please take a look at HP AppSystems for SAP HANA for more information.
