I don't typically attribute much fanfare to Data Protector patch releases. However, yesterday's release is noteworthy in that it is the first round of GR patches since the initial release of DP 6.2. Links to the actual release notes are included in the summary below. Remember that you will need a valid HP Passport account with your current DP software SAID linked to it. The official release notes will contain details of each defect, any included enhancements, and a link to the actual patch for download and install.

Even though the five non-core patches designate no dependency upon the new core patch, I still maintain my historical application order: CORE first, then CS, CC, DA, MA. Any integration patches follow those.
Yes, I know patching is typically a low-priority activity. It's not very exciting. It takes time away from other more pressing matters. But keeping your DP environment up to date is none the less important. Make sure you get your Installation Server patched then push those updated binaries out to all of your clients. You can do it en mass using the GUI's right-click "Upgrade" command in the client context. Simply select a range of clients (shift-click or control-click) before initiating the upgrade.
Don't forget that you can sign up for proactive notification and receive an email when Data Protector patches are released. It's another way HP helps you stay ahead of the curve!
