At Discover 2012 in June, HP unveiled a revolutionary set of services designed to provide comprehensive, customized support for companies’ current IT environments while helping them evolve toward cloud adoption. Scott Weller, general manager for HP Technology Services’ Support business, was at the event, spreading the word about HP Datacenter Care Service – agile, flexible, rock-solid-reliable IT support backed by compelling economics.

Here’s Scott’s in-a-nutshell overview of Datacenter Care, with a glance at a related Discover announcement, HP Cloud Planning Services.



In a SiliconANGLE interview with Dave Vellante, Scott looks at the role of Support in the ongoing transformation of traditional IT, under pressure from cloud computing and deepening complexity. Some of the questions Scott tackles:

During the last 10 years I've provide support for Linux and more recently VMware. My current role is as a Technical Account Manager working in the HP Custom Mission Critical Services Industry Standard Operating Systems team. I provide both reactive and proactive operating system support for proLiant servers and blades. Our services in the Custom teams are built on statement of work contracts for large HP customers who need a customized mission critical support offering.
