BPO shifts in the “New Normal”

Steve Ditto recently put out a post about Business Process Outsourcing and its strategic value titled: BPO As A Strategic Imperative. He mentioned a few key issues for BPO:

  • Technology – the increased blurring of distinctions between outsourcing and BPO activities as the industry adopts cloud techniques.
  • BRIC – This is about breaking into these markets, not using resources from them.
  • Value Creation – supplier and consumer value
  • Holistic Solutions – BPO by its nature is holistic within its context. What affect is there on the fragmented relationships some organizations are used to managing?

It sounds like he’ll have more detailed posts in these key issue areas and a few more I assume. Some areas I can think of are: extended relationship management, integration/customization.
