3d.pngIEEE Spectrum had a great article on the technical issues of 3-D TV (especially live TV).

 

If you are one of the 24 million or so people around the world who purchased a 3-D television in 2011—or the 42 million who are likely to purchase in 2012, it takes more than a 3D TV and a pair of special glasses to make this happen. After reading this article you’ll have a much better understanding. I never thought about the difference from a production perspective.

 

It reminded me that some of the technology we use has a great deal of complexity under the covers.
