A Converged Infrastructure touch and ask and show and tell

Neal (Cornelia) Clapper is senior vice president United States Technology Services for Hewlett-Packard, responsible for driving the growth of HP Support and Consulting services sales. Her goal is to ensure the profitable growth of comprehensive solutions, building sales excellence within her team, and growing a loyal base of “customers for life”. Neal joined HP in 1980 and has held a variety of roles at the worldwide and region level for HP’s storage, services and software business units. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Accounting from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, and a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University.

The word is out about Converged Infrastructure (CI) … and it’s all positive. For example, a customer survey done by IDC [1} showed that organizations who have implemented a converged infrastructure have been able to:

  • Shift more than 50% of their IT resources from operations to innovation. This allowed them to flip the standard 70/30 ratio, i.e., 70% on operations and 30% on innovation
  • Cut time to provision applications by 75%
  • Reduce downtime by 97%

Given these results, it is not surprising that a recent survey from ESG[2] found that that 64% of organizations surveyed favor an integrated computing platform procurement strategy consistent with a Converged Infrastructure approach.

While facts and figures such as these are helpful, they may not be enough to really convince companies who are thinking of adopting a CI approach to take the plunge. After all, it’s a major decision that impacts every aspect of their operations. So, it is only natural that potential adopters would like to get more tangible proof of what CI could do for them in their own everyday operations. That’s exactly why HP set up its Enterprise Customer Experience Center (CEC).

Well worth the trip
Located in Houston, TX, the Enterprise CEC exists to add a “touch and ask” element to the standard “show and tell” you might get in most sales situations. It presents a high-level environment for businesses, as well as HP partners and their customers, to discover and experience hands-on the business value of the industry-leading HP Converged Infrastructure strategy and the comprehensive HP Enterprise solutions portfolio. Best of all, your visit to the Center is customized to respond to your specific interests and needs. Please note that if you are working with an Authorized HP Reseller, we will work with both you and the Reseller to plan a briefing that meets your business objectives, while also allowing you to take full advantage of the numerous resources that the CEC and our Houston campus have to offer.

You set the agenda
While at the CEC, you’ll meet in a state-of-the-art facility that provides access to the latest HP technology in all key areas – servers, storage, networking, software and services. Depending on your preference, you can use your time at the CEC to:

•    Experience products and solutions first-hand
•    See service and solution demos
•    Meet with HP Executives and Leadership
•    Discuss your situations and plans with industry experts

Solution areas you can explore include Cloud, Converged Infrastructure, Virtualization, Server Refresh, Technology Services, and more. The CEC can also provide deep dives on custom topics, complete with demos.

Throughout, you’ll get a unique, inside look at how HP Converged Infrastructure solutions have been designed to make the data center simpler, more flexible, more efficient and less expensive to operate. It’s a day that can help you gain new perspective on your own business challenges and provide experiential knowledge to help you decide if a Converged Infrastructure approach is right for you.

All you have to do is ask
Setting up a visit to the HP Enterprise Customer Experience Center is easy. Just ask your HP representative or your Authorized HP Reseller to get the ball rolling.  You can also get more information on the CEC web site or by contacting your local HP office.
