HP and Microsoft: An unbeatable combination at work for you

One thing is for sure. If you say HP and Microsoft to someone, they almost certainly won’t say “who?” These are two of the most well-known and well-respected companies in information technology. Just imagine what would happen if they combined forces to create joint IT solutions. They would probably be among the best available. The good news is that they have and they are ... in key areas like virtualization, cloud, and much more. Wherever you need your business to go, you can choose no better partners than HP and Microsoft to take you there.

Windows Server 2003: an area of immediate concern
Let’s start with an event that will shortly impact many of you. As of July 14, 2015, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 will reach its end of support (EoS). That means Microsoft will no longer offer security updates, support, or technical content updates for this operating system. This will have a major impact on companies who are still running applications on Windows Server 2003, making the environment less secure and more expensive to operate. Continuing to run Windows Server 2003 will also mean the companies will not be able to take advantage of modern IT infrastructure, management tools, cloud and application modernization options that HP and Microsoft provide.

In response, HP and Microsoft have created a comprehensive program to help business smoothly transition from Windows Server 2003 to newer versions – cost-effectively, quickly and with confidence. The program includes planning workshops, migration services, products and solutions, PLUS flexible financing options, training discounts and asset disposal – everything you need for a successful migration. Working closely with the vast global network of our HP Authorized Partners, we make this program available exactly when and where you need it.

To get you started in the right direction, HP offers the HP Transformation Workshop for Windows Server 2003 Migration, a 1- day session that covers Windows Server 2003 end-of support readiness, migration vision, options, preparation, best practices and critical success factors. We can then help in other phases of the migration with services like:

  • HP Migration Assessment Service for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 offers analysis of the Windows environment, applications, workloads and investment decisions. Participants get Windows Server Migration prescription strategy, roadmap deployment plan, risk assessment, target reference architecture definition, migration timeline and cost estimates for speedy execution.
  • HP Migration Services for Windows 2003 help organizations with the complete move to Windows Server 2012 R2, covering people, process and technology aspects of the move. The services mitigate the migration risks, and ease the implementation through step-by-step migration assessment, preparation, execution, and transition to operations
