How HP can help you execute a flawless storage data migration

Storage data migration projects are cropping up on IT leaders’ to-do lists with increasing frequency in these days of consolidation, virtualization, and cloud initiatives – and they have a nasty tendency to go over budget.

The average project has a budget of $875,000, with overruns costing an additional $268,000, according to research cited in an executive brief from Frost & Sullivan (How data migration services can help you maximize ROI while minimizing business risk). As the global research firm points out, “few projects can afford to see a line item increase unexpectedly by more than 30 percent. Few project managers can explain away such an increase without a blow to their reputations.”

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Francis Scarfi, HP Senior Product Manager, Data Migration, was at HP Discover in Las Vegas last month explaining how HP can help IT organizations steer a safe course through the risks and challenges of a big migration project. Check out Francis’ video How HP helps you tackle the storage data migration challenge, below, for his key insights.
