Sharpen your competitive edge with Big Data

For some realistic insights into the promise of Big Data and what it can do for businesses, I was impressed by a recent post at noJitter by Gary Audin – Big Data is a tool, not an answer. With the rise of single large sets of related data, says Audin, “the correlations unearthed and the conclusions drawn from effective analysis have seemingly endless applications, enabling big data to be used for anything from identifying business trends to preventing disease.”

Amos Ferrari, HP Worldwide Strategist for Big Data, sums it up in the video below: “If you use [big data] to provide new business services, and new information to the business, you will have a competitive advantage.” Check out the video for Amos’s take on:

- Big Data’s place in the intelligent data center of the future

- Where to start with a Big Data initiative

- Why HP’s offerings in the Big Data marketplace are unique.

The video gives you a great picture of Amos’s style, too: friendly and approachable, deeply knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about all things Big Data – a consultant in the true HP mold. To learn more about Amos, visit his HP Expert profile.
