Take new employees from zero to productive in minutes with HP solutions

By Kitty Chow, Worldwide Portfolio Marketing Manager, HP Network Services

HP has announced Secure BYOD Services and IP address management Services that help you address the usual painfully slow processes of getting employees set up with the productivity services they need.

Kitty Chow.jpgMost people in the workforce these days need to use a core set of productivity services to do their jobs. Take me, for instance; I spend most of my day on conference calls, creating and editing content, and sharing and presenting information to colleagues, partners and customers. I could be working from home, from the office, in my car, a hotel room or even a Starbucks, anywhere in the world. To be my most productive, I should be able to easily call anyone I need to, from anywhere, and I should be able to find, share, edit and store any content I need during these interactions.

Connecting to the corporate network and getting immediate, secure access to the tools you need to do your work should be easy. But in most enterprises, this is not the case. Simply getting connected can be challenging; different productivity services such as voice, email, collaboration tools and business applications have different rules and access methods. And it’s even more difficult when you’re mobile.

For new employees, this can result in weeks of delay before they can be productive. So the question is: How can you help them to go from zero to productive in minutes?

New secure BYOD and IP address management services from HP, combined with HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC), enable you to secure access to core productivity services in minutes. HP can help you set up intelligent user self-onboarding. And it doesn’t matter whether employees bring their own device or use a company-supplied device; the network knows what access they need and allows them to self-connect.

Beyond intelligent access, HP also helps you provide a single, unified and secure workspace for your users, including an enterprise app store for all their productivity needs. Communications and collaboration applications, Windows applications, web, SaaS and native mobile apps – they’re all available self-service and securely under the control of your own datacenter.

Imagine: a new employee or contractor shows up in the office on their first day with their own device. They get connected, install what they need from their enterprise app store, and start working immediately.

And here’s another thing to consider: how often do your users change from one device to another? With HP’s BYOD solutions, no problem – they can quickly be as productive as they were before, easily.

And we can help you gear up for what the future holds, too. In addition to meeting the demands of enterprise mobility, your network will likely need to enable cloud and to handle the demands of big data. Being able to dynamically scale network resources up and down as required by employees and the business is a must for the future, and software-defined networking is the key. We’ve just announced our new HP SDN Roadmap services, which provide a detailed practical transition plan that incorporates your unique needs and existing environments. The time to plan for the promise of software defined networking is now; find out more here.
